Our founder
David Owen
David Owen grew up living and working on his family’s dairy farm, where he developed a lifelong passion for agriculture and a deep understanding of the realities of farm life. He went on to study Agriculture and Management at Aberdeen University before building a career in food production and agricultural consultancy.
Driven by a desire to deliver practical, forward-thinking advice and to make consultancy more dynamic and technology-led, David founded Owen Farm Services in 2013. His vision was simple: to help farmers make better use of data, reduce paperwork, and spend more time farming. That vision continues to shape the business today.
David was deeply committed to supporting the next generation of agricultural consultants, spending time mentoring and developing trainee consultants and sharing his knowledge, experience, and values. Those he trained are now experienced consultants within Owen Farm Services, taking the lead in delivering advice and carrying forward the standards and ethos David set.
Beyond his professional life, David was a keen curler and proudly represented Team GB at the 2003 Winter Universiade in Tarvisio. Above all, David was a devoted and proud father, and his children meant everything to him.
David is remembered as a passionate advocate for agriculture, an innovator, and a trusted advisor to many. His legacy lives on through Owen Farm Services and the people and businesses he supported.
